The drivers door switch for the passenger door window onmy 2005 car is not working to close the window. Is this a known problem and does anyone know how to remove the door panel to access the switch.

    Thanks for your help.

    Chris

Interseting that you say that, I've got the exact same problem. Could be coincidence but same switch, same door and same direction (works when opening but not to close)!?!?!

Either way I've just picked up a new switch today and when the weather allows I'll fit and let you know what the result was.

    Chris Ha6,

Mine was just a duff switch which I changed this afternoon which cleared the problem. Jetstuff's doc made getting the doo panel off very easy. One thing worth a mention is that the rubber beading around the door is not connected to the door panel. I sat there for a while trying to work out if I needed to do anything with it but it turns out not, it just looks like it might be joined to the panel, it is in fact fixed to the door.

Removing the panel after the screws had been taken out took a bit of nerve as you have to be quite rough with it. I just got a good grip with both hands at centre bottom of the panel, like I was trying to pull the pocket off, gave it a good hard yank (eventually) and the bottom came away. Thought I borken it with the noise it made but it's tougher than it looks. Took the rest off by working my fingers round the gap and gently pulling.

Would recommend Jetstuff's guide and a bit of brute force and it should be a breeze. Only tool I needed was 1 x Philips head size 2 screwdriver.

I have removed all the screws and tried to pull off the panel as suggested with no success. Has anyone any other tips as I do not want to break the door panel. It does not seem to want to budge at all.

    Thanks

    Chris
