Anyone swapped out the Original airbag wheel for an aftermarket or audi one. I have a 3 spoke Genuine Audi 80/coupe nardi wheel and wheel boss adapter. I've removed the original airbag and wheel, but new steering wheel boss touches column shroud?

Do i need to remove slip plate off old wheel?

Or will it need a new steering wheel boss?
Going to install resistor inline with airbag wiring to exstinguish Airbag lt.
    Any help advice appreciated
