    Hello.

How are the front grille and rear S4 badges attached on the B6 S4? I'm guessing glue for the rear badge but is the one on the grille secured by pins through a backplate?

    TIA.

Hello mate, I have an S-Line and the front badge on the grill is secured by pins (the bracket with pins cost a couple of quid from the Audi dealer), haven't had to change the rear or side badges but they look like they're glued on.

The bracket is specific to the chassis so make sure you get the right one, it's fitted from the rear so you need to pop the hood and push it through from the back of the grill.

    Nice one. Thanks.

I'll be removing the badges from the S4 that I'm hoping to buy shortly so I don't plan to put them back on.

Cool, I misread and thought you were trying to stick them on

Taking the front badge off the grill isn't too difficult but it's a tight fit and much easier if you use a small screwdriver wrapped with masking tape (so as not to scratch the grill) to gently prise open the pins

To remove the glued on badges try dental floss in a sawing motion behind the badge then clean off the excess glue with WD40

    Thanks kite.

The consensus seems to be fishing line/dental floss followed by WD40 to clear up the remaining glue.
