VAGCOM and B5.5 what lead?

Hi all, i need to know which of the cheap leads will work with 409.1 and my car. Its a 53 plate 130 sport estate.
I have looked on ebay and they all say

Passat MK 3
16 Pin
YES
Passat MK 4
16 Pin
YES
Passat MK 5 (B6)
16 Pin
NO
Passat MK 6 (B6)
16 Pin
NO

So, have i got a MK4 or 5?

Will this lead work only want to switch off my eair bag light as since taking the dash out it wont go out and yes, everthing is connected as it should.

Yes it will work. I would by it from Ilexa or Gendan, not from ebay. It will work better if you pay ross-tech for the full licence.

Leave the Ebay one well alone!

I don't like the look of it purely because they called the mk5 and 6 both a B6 - which is wrong!

If you want it to work, and you don't wanna risk messing your ecu up (there was a scare not so long ago about cheap ebay cables causing shorts) then visit Ilexa or Gendan to get a Ross-tech one like Martin said.

I have taken a punt on an ebay one. It looks identical to the one on Gendan but half the price
I only want to reset the airbag light which i can do with the shareware version of vagcom.

I think i heard about a problem with later cars with non factory radios, somthing to do with K-link or something

If i have further problems and need vagcom i will get the proper kit and pay for a full version.

Go for the £8 lead, I have bought 3 cheap Ebay leads and they all work fine with 409.1 on my B5.5.
Cant see the point of paying £20 for the same lead (they are all made in China). I see on one site that you cant use 409.1 with Vista, strange as I have been doing this for the last 3 months with no problems.
If you get one pay the $99 to register the softwear, its well worth the money.

My £15 ebay lead works with no problems. Also works fine on Windows 7 with Vag-Com 409.1.

The one i got was £11, and i have vista but already found out how to sort it if i do have problems (run as admin)

Will definatly pay the $99 as it will serve me well. We have a bora 150 PD and now the Passat
