    AIUI this can be done fairly easily if you go direct to the EEPROM chips on the ECU rather than via the "controlled" interface that VCDS type tools use. A good forum for looking at how to make this sort of change is MHH Auto - for example: Speed limiter in eeprom EDC17CP20 (VW T5). I'm not sure where you would post there to help you find someone local to do the work though.

    When VCDS and ODIS says this cannot be reversed when brought down, does that include going direct into the eprom? My life stops at the ECU plug.

    I think it can still be adjusted going direct to EEPROM. Everything the ECU knows is in the firmware, flash, EEPROM, etc, so it's like rewinding time for it to what it "knew" previously. Some devices (but not the ECU AFAIK) have additional hardware "tripwires" such as on-chip links / fuses they will blow when certain programming is done so they still know something happened. Even then getting a new chip with links intact can bypass that.

    Hi The mills, I am also in the position of having a LT46 down rated but restricted to 55mph could you please tell me where you had to send you ECU to to get the limiter removed.

    Hey,

    Is your van completely derestricted now? There no other speed limiter other then the ecu?

    What company did you use?

    I have an lt46 with a tacho and the painful 56
