    hi all

light has been on for the last 3 days on the dash ,checked the oil and topped it up a little .it did go out but now has come back on and staying on .levels are good and i dont want to over fill .read on here about sticking sensor is it possible.service not due for another 2000 mile according to dash ,would an oil change make a difference .
big problem is i need to do 500 round trip on wednesday cant get it in garage before i go will it be ok to drive with low level oil light on .

where is the sensor i need to change

just to clarify its the oil can with the word min on it .

also read somewhere to disconnect battery for 30 seconds to reset is it a waste of time .

    thanks

i wouldnt drive it that far
id get it in a garage asap
IF there is a problem it could end up costing you a full rebuild
it could be the sensor or the bonnet switch as the light is reset through the switch

Its not low oil though is it?
Thought it meant LOW OIL PRESSURE - I'd stop driving it now and get it checked out

Normally a light such as this indicates low oil pressure - have you checked the oil level and if low have you topped it up?
If it is low pressure I would want it checked as soon as possible - if you have a breakdown service I'd even call them out.
If it is low pressure you risk major engine damage if you drive it.
