    Hi everyone.

Recently my passat TDI estate has had its alarm going off. It seems most often to hgappen during the early hours which is a real pain. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might happen. I checked the boot and it is shut properly. Could it be a sensor problem elsewhere? Can I completely disable the alarm?

    Thanks guys

    Dean

A code read should help identify what is triggering the alarm Check for wet/damaged wiring to the ccm under passenger carpet. You can disconnect the sounder under the bonnet...That will shut it up.

Check the plenum to see if you have a little pond and the drain plug issue.

Might also be a leaky rear screen washer pump - the water leaks down the inside of the tailgate and messes up the sensor which checks the tailgate is shut properly. There is a repair kit, but a whole new unit is not much more and is easy to fit.

Most likely a leaky rear washer jet. Had this issue myself, bought the repair kit from VW and it was easy to sort.

As for the above, it is very easy to replace the parts from the kit. Why spend an extra £50 on a new wiper motor?
