Hi, I currently own a mk4 tdi, and i am thinking of either changing to a mk4 golf gti 1.8 or a 2.0 gti. Does anybody now of any problems I should be looking for with these, and also is there much difference between the two?

    Cheers

As far as I can tell, problems seem to be more specific to mk4 golfs, rather than this type or that type. I have a 2.0GTi which I absolutely love and have had no real problems with (so far). I haven't had any horrible cold sweats reading about problems with any of the GTi's so I think "no more than any other golf mk4" is the answer to that.

why dont you look at the GTi TDi 150. Same power and you get added bonus of 50mpg fuel economy. Also can be remapped to 190+ BHP for a few hundred quid.

Go for a 1.8T GTi, find one with 180BHp cause they do, do a 150BHp
the 2.0 GTi, a bit under powered only 115BHp
