    Hi there,

I had a look at my mates A6 today as he said it didn't seem as powerful as normal and a bit 'under the weather'.

A quick scan of the car revealed an intermittently faulty N75 valve:
17956 - Boost Pressure Regulation Valve (N75): Open Circuit
    P1548 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

And we also got this one too:
01810 - Actuating Motor for Temperature Flap; Right (V159)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent

I have more details from the scan should they be of any use?

My intentions were to unplug the N75 valve, ensure all connections are clean and tidy, check all the vacuum lines to/fro the valve and make sure they're all clean/not cracked.

The HVAC motor, seems as though when we turn up the temp inside all is ok and when its turned right down it seems ok too, but the bit in the middle. So this fault would explain things, but where on earth is this motor located and how difficult is it to swap it out?

    Cheers,

    JT

The air-con flap one, I have been told, is really common and to not even bother to try and repair as it's a massive job for very little reward.

You have to remove the storage unit from the drivers side under the sterring column then the entire centre section of the dash panel and the reinforcement bracket. Then you can gain access and change the faulty flap motor. It is quite a big job. Regards Peter
