    I have 2002 mk4 golf and after the yellow oil light came on i obviously topped up the oil. But i found after that the light continued to stay on and still will not go off. Does this mean a new oil level sensor or something else?? HELP PLEASE!!

    bonnet switches play up and cause this fault and the wiring wears through under battery tray

    Check your fuses also.

    Thanks towcestervag, checked mine, bonnet switch was gunged up wd40 and a cloth cleared it, oil light went straight out.
