Hi guys, i have installed HID kit in my passat b5.5 this weekend by reading guides from here and disable my DRL's as well by bending the pin in the light switch(not euro) but when i switch the lights on, driver side HID light switches on for couple of seconds and goes off. but after 3 or 4 attempts it switches on n stays on n works perfectly whereas the passenger side one works fine. Please advise as its really driving me crazy.
    Thanks.

I think it is a bulb or ballast, you could try swapping components to the other side, or running test wires from the battery to the ballast to make sure it is not your wiring.

It sounds like it is faulty and not sending a high enough ignitor voltage. You will have to buy another ballast or send it back for an exchange.
When you turn them on, it sends a pulse of 25,000 volts but then only 85 volts once they are lit. The higher voltage is to ionise the Xenon gas to make it conductive.
