Auto reverse gear problem

Hi Everyone. Recent Audi purchaser and was wondering if you can offer some advice please. Sometimes reverse doesn't engage properly and obviously will not reverse. Any one experienced this and or knows the answer to the problem. many thanks in advance. The car is a 53 plate 1.9 tdi. Avant. The dash indicator says it is in reverse. Sometimes the gear selected indicator on the dash flashes all the P R N D S at the same time!! Thanks everyone, Pikeybob

You must have a CVT box. Just look up multitronic on the forum and read the bad news.

Hopefully you have a warrenty, as if so I would be looking to claim on it.

The problem is not only Audi, all multitronics suffer the same faults
