I noticed the other day that when rolling along in traffic, I can gently apply the brakes enough to stop the car, without the lights coming on (I could see in the plate glass shop windows).

They come on fine when applying enough force to stop the car from more than a walking pace, but this made me wonder if the switch is set wrongly, or if the switch can be adjusted so they come on before any braking effort is applied.

With cars using LEDs or quick light bulbs to increase the time a following driver has to react to your brakes, me being able to press the pedal a bit without them lighting must be decreasing this reaction time.

Any thoughts?
