turbo not working..after replacing egr-valve

hi this is my secound post to the site.i have an audi a4 2 ltr tdi sline 2005. i noticed the lack of power a few days ago in top gear.the following day the car broke down so i called the aa out who said it was the egr vale but could not fix it so they blanked it off..the car was then useable but no turbo..today i fitted a new egr valve.upon removing the old one i found that the valve had broken off the end of the shaft and was just sitting in there..i replaced it with a new egr and afterwards the car has no power i.e turbo not working..any help or advise would be appreciated thanks..it seems like the car is still in limp mode

Check all vacuum hoses are secure in the vicinity,as AA/you may have disturbed them,and is the balnk removed? May be a daft question!

checked all the hoses not a problem alan. going to get it on the vag today to check or codes..will let you no what it comes up with
