    Hi All,

I have recently had the tailgate painted, in the process the bodyshop didnt put the badges on in the right location, so i have removed them.

How do dealers put them on, is there a template so that they can be put exactly in the right place. Failing this does anyone have a 2.0 TDI that could measure where the Golf badge and the 2.0 TDI badge is on their tailgate?

Poor thing looks naked without them.

I saw a post on audi sport with an image that shows measurements etc... i assume there should be one for the golf, its just finding it.

    Thanks All

Sorry, can't help with the location, but mine is a GT and the GT badge has actually been fixed slightly out of level and it sticks out like a sore thumb, so you do need to be careful.
I am actually considering solving my problem by removing all the badges anyway which I think could actually look better.
Can depend on the colour of course, mine is black. Why don't you leave them unfixed for a while and see what you think after a while. Any chance of posting a picture so I can see what it looks like without badges?

I'll pop a note in my calendar and try and give you some measurements tomorrow.

Probably won't be perfect, as it'll be hard to describe exactly where I've measured from, but better than nothing!

    Ok I've taken some measurements...

My car has the Golf badge on the left of the boot and 2.0 TDI on the right.

Measuring from the I of TDI to the right hand edge of the boot lid measures 45mm from the bottom of the I and 50mm from the top.

From the bottom edge of the 2 to the bottom edge of the boot lid is 92mm.

This ought to get it nicely in position and level.

From the G of Golf, I measured from the mid point of the G, nearest to the left hand egde of the boot lid gave 50mm.

Again from the bottom of the L in Golf to the bottom of the boot gave 92mm.

    Hope this helps.

    Excellent,

I cannot thank you enough. Should look better than the body shops attempt?

    Kind regards
