HI all, Can anyone advise if the VW dealers can be told not to put their markers on their cars -or are they required too? I would rather have a clean car straight from the factory. In this case specifically the Listers VW group..
Is there anything else they do that probably would best be avoided..? I know that during the PDI they are supposed to tick boxes which a lot can't be bothered

I think there is something in the uk number plate law which says the maker of the plate needs to be traceable, so dealers take this to be a chance to use their name. Buy plates elsewhere and you can just use the postcode of the maker (ie that of your local halfords etc)

the rest is normally just a sticker on the rear window

You can get it clean, apart from a postcode on the number plate and some form of tax disc holder (a bit of sticky tape, however I chose a dealer on)

The worst things that my dealer has done, now on two occasions, has been to put the new tax disc in one of those horrible sticky envelope type window thingys.
I told them this time, however, NOT put it on the windscreen as I had my own simple magnetic ring device from Halfords which displays the tax disc simply and effectively.

    I got mine from Listers.

It never had any rear windscreen sticker on it, as to the road tax holder I cant recall, I changed that anyway. The number plates did have the dealer name on them but like the road tax holder the plates got changed. Apart from all that you have the dealer stamp in the service manual, pdi stamp etc and two 'Listers VW' tagged key fobs.

Do you mean branding the actual car, like People Ford who stick this awful 'People' badge on the car? I'd just mention that I don't wan't any extra badges put on. Dealer stickers can always be peeled off so I would not worry about them.

VW Policy is only to insert branded dealer "adverts" to glass only. ie.. no body stickers..

Even if they put a sticker in, it can be peeled off no problem.

The reg plate bradning is the only one you have to live with at pick up, then go to , for example.. Andrew pages and get a new GB style plate made up.

Yes , I was refering to all the stuff dealers do/do not during the PDI..so stickers or actually writing on the body e.g Vindis! Can one not ask for standard key fobs - in the case of Listers what do they do with the key fobs ..?
Anyone have any bad/good experiences to share especially with Listers...
