    hello every one, i have a mk4 tdi with the red di which i think has a standrd 100 bhp, however my mate reckons it has 115 bhp and another reckons it has 130 bhp. could someone please tell me the correct bhp, many thanks

    as a quick one phone german and swedish or vw main dealer give them your reg and ask them the question

    The data sticker in the boot or the service book lists the output in KW.

    there are 2 types of engine with the mk4 golf, the VE engine (older) and the PD (newer)

    Pd stands for pump deuse. it is all to do with the way the diesel is injected into the engine i belive, whilst the VE rotary engines are slightly better on economy, the PD engines are massively better for remapping potential and power gains.

    the VE engines were the 90 & 110 bhp
    i believe some PD were also 110, but unsure, the other 3 engines to be PD are 115, 130 and the 150 engines.
