Today I noticed just how big the MK6 golf is its huge, was parked next to a 3 series estate, honda accord and an E class merc. When I walked off I turned back and looked at my car, then I noticed how big the new Golf is it looked huge compared to the 3, E class and Honda.

Has anyone else noticed that the Golf aint as compact as it should be ?

Just like modern living, everyone values space and VW are probably trying to 'catch' as many customers as possible. The polo is pretty much the same size as a Golf mk1 so yeah, the mk6 is large...

I saw a picture on another forum some months back that was obviously taken at a VW meet. It was Mk1 - Mk6 Golf's park next to each other, all black. It showed the colossal size of the Mk5 & 6 really well. I wish I could find it again.

It wasn't this picture I was thinking of, but it did involve these 5 cars, plus a Mk6...that is unless I have just made this up in my head lol. I wouldn't put it past me.

This surprised me in that the Mk4 doesn't look much bigger:

The new Polos is about the same size externally as my old Mk 3

The Mk6 Golf is bigger, but interior space wise its no better than the old Mk3 because there's more kit to pack inside and the trims / seats seem a lot bulkier these days.

I hope it's not that huge as it won't go in the garage! I have a Mk4. at present and hope
my new Mk.6 (due April) is about the same width.

(My husband has a Merc. E class and it's enormous in my eyes.)
