A3 1.9 TDI Special Edition / Done 36,000 and telling me service due in approx 1300 miles.

Spoken to local Audi dealer and they quoted me 213.19 (inc vat) for inspection service.

On ebay Stafford Audi are advertising £99.99 (inc vat) interim service for A3.

What's the score here? Should I be aware of anything? In particular what differentiates inspection from interim service?

    Hi

When i enquired about the £99 pound service at audi they stated that it is a yearly service and therfore will not be using the long life service oil and the service interval will be set to yearly instead of mileage(i.e car service warning light will come on after 12 months instead of approx 18,000 miles).Apparantly the oil is the expensive part i think around 8-10 punds per litre.

    Hope this helps

You expect exceptional service when you take your car to an Audi Centre but the bill may seem somewhat unexceptional. Our competitive fixed prices mean that, when it’s time to pay, the only surprise you’ll receive is a pleasant one.
    Our fixed-price jobs* are:

    • Cam belt £349
    • Major service £249
    • Interim service £99
    • Brake pads £99
    • Brake fluid change £49
    * Privately owned Audi vehicles over 36 months old from date of registration. Up to and including 2.0 litre engines for A2, A3, A4, A6 and TT. Prices subject to change without notice. Prices include VAT at 17.5% and parts and labour. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Excludes Channel Islands.

National Prices! Cant see them changing your service schedule without asking you... but i could be wrong...

Well i'll be dambed called up a few dealorships and all but one said yes you will be moved to fixed servicing. Preston Audi said i would stay on longlife unless i specifically ask to changed to fixed servicing.
