Hello, I'm a newbie on this forum and just thought i'd say hello to everyone before i dived straight in with my first question. My name is David, i own an Audi A4 1.9tdi pd 130, 2002, manual (which i love), I'm a motorbike mechanic and i live in Aldershot. I phoned Camberley Audi today to get a price for an alternator pulley (one way clutch jobbie that is making one hell of a rumble at low rpm) and was given a price of around £70 inc vat (which was around what i was expecting). Due to the manner in which the parts person spoke to me, coupled with the fact he wouldn't give me the part number either, i WONT be buying the part from them. He was rude and patronising, and i'm not being a wuss or anything (got to be thick skinned when your a mechanic) but politeness costs nothing and gets you a long way. So after all this rambling, anybody know the part number i need for the pulley and where i can get it from? It's a Valeo 130 amp alternator. Any help gratefully recieved.
    Many thanks

    David.

Spot on towcestervag, called eurocarparts today and you were indeed correct, and they were very helpfull. Also i tried Bath Audi (a long way from me i know, but i'm in that area a lot) before i tried ecp and spoke to a gent in the parts department. He was very helpfull (and polite), gave me the part number with no fuss and even told me that he didn't have the pulley in stock but he could get it in for me next day. His computer was showing VW down the road had 4 in stock if i needed it double quick! Top man.

Kite. Thanks for the suggestion but i doubt i'll ask Camberley again. Im sure Graham is great but who ever i spoke to there single handedly put me off. Thank you for your response though.

    Ta all.
