Serpentine belt noise?

Hi,

A couple of weeks ago i had the alternator replaced as the idler clutch had started going bad (battery light flashing on dashboard and strange noises). The mechanic also replaced the serpentine belt while he was at it.

After a few days i started getting some weird rubber squealing noise when starting the car in the morning. It usually goes after about 5 or so seconds. Recently its been happening even if i just turn the car off for a few minutes and then return. Also sometimes when just idling i hear it slightly plus when doing low rpms such as when just moving off or reversing. When idling however, if i turn on the heater or rear window demister then the sound pretty much goes away.

I had a look at the belt and tensioner when the car is idling and the tensioner is shaking quite a bit. Not by a huge amount of distance, but its vibrating back and forth at high speed. This wasnt really happening before the alternator and belt change.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas? could it be the wrong belt or tensioner going bad? Should i just take it back to the garage?
