    Default Cat sensor question.. – 20-02-2010,07:32 PM
    Hi there,
    My engine management light came on a few weeks ago and was diagnosed as a cat failure, I got a new cat and reset the light. After a couple of weeks the light came on again with another cat failure.
    Now I know the cats ok so its probably a sensor problem.

    What kind of sensor is this? Is it a resistance sensor or an oxygen sensor?

    Is there anything I can do to 'fool' this sensor into reading no fault so I can get my engine light off?

    (its a 1.8T by the way)

    whats the fault code?
    whats engine no and year?

    Hi, its a 2002 model. Not sure what the fault code was, garage just told me it was a cat failure. Will give them a ring on monday and find out.
