I posted this question on 15/02/10 and only got one reply from Snapdragon. I don't kow what recourse to take. As i said before, While driving along the road on Monday morning I felt the front drivers seat getting hot in my Passat 2004 130 BHP Highline. I turned the heating off (Set at position 1) and it was not untill later I discoverd that the heating element had burnt a hole the size of a 50pence coin through the leather seat through my trousers and if it was not for my wallet it would have burnt me. I cant imagine the consquences if it had burnt me while I was driving along the motorway 10 mins later or even worse if the wife or my daughter was driving the car. I got in-touch with the garage were the car was originally bought but the servive manager has still to contact me. Is there anyone else I can approach as I think this is a very serious Heath and Safety issue. Surely this should not happen.

Get in touch with VW UK as this is a known problem.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I believe there was a recall on this problem here in the states.
Although, I seem to remember it was the passenger seat.
    My Passat is a 2003.

LOL, same seat as the drivers side in the UK

I am getting worried to as this is not the first time I have seen this mentioned, I have a 2005 Tdi 130 Highline too.

Strange how the Press and TV are delighted to give Toyota a pasting over their problems .... but VW have largely escaped over equally serious matters such as this burning issue and the rusted-out brake servo problem?
