    Default Temp gauge – 18-05-2007,09:53 PM
    My Temp gauge just gave up, then later when I restarted the car it came to life then stopped working again.
    any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Mine just did the same, my mate is a VW head and says its a known fault so I will ask him again what it is.
    ps mine started working a bit , so i decided to ignore it for the moment as I have bigger issues at the moment.
    will get back to you when i see him

    Its the coolant temperature sensor.
    A commonly failing part, cheap and easy to replace.
    Passat Estate 2002 PD130
