    Hi,
My 56 reg passat estate diesel has a Parrot fitted, which has stopped working already. Its a dead Parrot. I have been in contact with Parrot and tried to cure it, unsuccessfully, but in doing so I removed the radio surround and unplugged the "Passenger airbag" warning light. Now I have put it back together the dashboard "airbag alert " warning is on. How can I reset the thing so it goes out? anyone know please?

get someone with vag-com to reset the airbag system. if i was told correctly, a fault light on the airbag system disables all the airbags for 'safety' reasons. In my particular case the airbag connector under the passenger seat was pulled apart, and that fault light disabled all my airbags until the system was reset by a specialist.

Basically you have started the ignition whilst the airbag plug (wire that goes into back of stereo surround) has been disconnected. I did the same thing myself and got it reset by a mate who has vagcom.

    What killed the parrot?

I managed to do that when fitting a new head unit. I popped down to my local VW dealer and they reset it for me. Worth asking.
