    Afternoon all.
Ive just gone out and changed the rear rubbers on the back of my missus 1.8Driver (ABS) as coming back from Mansfield at the weekend they started making a noise.
When i looked in the boot the n/s shocker shaft was poking out of the turret and touching the parcel shelf!
So i thought the bottom rubber had gone.
Well i just went to change them and got them all done, popped it on the floor and the bloody thing still pokes through!!!
So i gave the shaft a tug from the inside and it pulls nearly all the way through(darnt go any more incase i pop it out of the strut.)

My question is has anybody come across this before? The car is lowered 80/60mm.
    Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Gary

at the top of the shocker there should be a small split ring that the top mount sits on there is a washer which is chamfered to sit in the split washer

Thanks for the reply.I took the other side to bits at the same time and i put it together the same both sides, but the other side is fine.
If i pull on the complete assembly from in the boot, the shaft and top rubber pull through and just keep coming as if it is not connected to the inside of the strut anymore,i darnt keep pulling it incase i pop the shock out altogether.
Ive just never known it before.?!?

Just an update, i removed the shock to double check(no point buying a new set up for the sake of a circlip)unfortunatly my suspiscions were correct and the shaft pulled striaght out of the strut so i have machined a bracket to keep it in place untill i decide which set of coilovers to get for it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for the help
