I am in the middle of dealing for an 2009 A4 with Sat Nav . I asked for a price for rear parking sensors to be retro fitted to the car. But the garage (audi main dealer) said that Audi do not have a kit to suit the 2009 B8.

Has anyone any experience of getting a A4(B8) retro fitted with parking sensors.

If this question has come up before , then my apologies

    Thanks

Sounds like BS to me!! Whenever the first batches were due to be delivered (mine was one of them), the factories supposedly ran out of the 'built in' sensors, and therefore all the cars that were spec'd with rear sensors had to have them retrofitted at the dealers.

Now I know that there have been a few tweaks to MY09 and MY10, but I don't see any reason why they can't be fitted. Of course, you don't get it integrated into the MMI / steering wheel controls - there is simply a beeper in the boot somewhere.

    Hope this helps.

I'm in the process of buying a Dec 08 A4, which was described wrongly by the dealer as having parking sensors, having realised the mistake the dealer is having them fitted this week!

It seems that the car I'm buying was one of the cars which had the sensors removed from their spec because of the shortages referred to.

I had rear sensors fit 2 weeks ago by my local dealer, took around 3 days for them to come from Audi, colour coded to match bumper (Meteor grey), acoustic type, I dont have sat nav so dont know if that makes a difference, would not have thought so. It took the dealers around 4 hours and cost me £363.72 all in.

You can retro fit yourself using the following kit

    http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_i...b6414d25b466cf

They also do kits for just the back bumper. I'm too looking at this and have so far read up on doing it. You can always tell retro fit apart from oem fit as with retro fit the sensors stick out slightly whereas oem are flush fitted. The Kufatec kit are oem I believe.

Mine (a4 08) were retro fitted by the Audi dealer & they do protrude compared with the factory fitted.
If fact i was most annoyed as when I was buying the car it was "they'll look just like this one in the showroom sir" , but when I collected it they stuck out & IMO look a bit naff.

    Hi number nine,

The sensors do protrude slightly so they are not as neat as factory fitted, but they are body coloured, dont look bad, serve there purpose and hopefully will stop my wife reversing into the gate post again
