Hi guys, has anyone had this happen to them. Yesterday went out to the car and found the drivers seat had moved fully forward, put it to normal postion and started driving, the seat started to move forward of its own accord.Put it back again but this kept happening for about ten minutes.
This morning again it was forward, put it back, but again it moved forward
a few times before it stopped doing it. Any ideas ?

does it only move forward - none of the opther seat positions change do they? could be a faulty switch?

Might be worth disconnecting the switch gear/fuse etc in the interest of safety, hate to hear about an Audi driver found stuck to the steering wheel

sounds like a faulty switch on the seat, maybe the contacts inside have become loose and occassionally make the circuit propelling the seat forward - thats where id start if it was my car - id try disconnecting just the forward part of the switch to see if this cures the problem

    Morning,

A lad at work has just mentioned his Skoda Octavia also has the same issue.

Has anyone replaced the switch yet, did it resolve the issue and how much did the part cost?

    Thanks

It has not done it for two days now, but the switch does not want to move the seat backwards unless I try it many times, it will move up, down and forwards just going back is difficult. How easy is it to take switch off to have a look at it ? thanks in advance.

you need someone with bently or elsa (or whatever theyre called lol) its a bit like a manufacturers version of a haynes manual - it would show how to removed the side panel from the seat - id guess it shud just unclip by pulling it - if your seat is struggling to go back and moves forward on its own - the switch is deffo frigged - the internal contacts have moved/come loose.
