I am new to this forum. Have just acquired a 2008 A6 2.0L Tdi mtronic. Except for the service book most of the documentation is missing. Is there a way of interrogating the manufacturers database to check the build specification ? Also does anyone have a link to a documentation library for the handbook ? Thanks

I found a handbook for mine on eBay, cost me £30 but well worthwhile. Other things I did fairly early on were to update the satnav disc (eBay again) and update the MMI to the latest version (Got the discs of eBay but they are as cheap, if not cheaper, from Audi dealerships). I also had the aircon cleaned/regassed as I had no idea if it had ever been done (06 car) and it can be quite an expense if it does go wrong!

The site in the post Chris linked will cost you 2 euros (About £1.70) and takes a little while to update as it's done manually - for me it was a little less than 24hrs but it could be longer than that of course. The information provided was well worth the expense as far as I am concerned as it filled in some gaps in my knowledge of the car!

Finally, welcome to VWAF from another new A6 owner

Thank you Chris, that's very useful. Re the handbook I guess your ebay link suggests Audi do not publish pdf handbooks online ? As a separate topic (rather than starting a new post) do you know if there are any forums that discuss the Audi Coupe (I have aType85)

Great thanks for the info, really good to join an enthusiastic forum and get helpful tips. My next challenge is to diagnose an intermittent EMS fault light ... doesn't seem to impact performance but will need sorting before long.

You'll need a fault code scan.

See my forum signature and check out the user map, if you find someone let me know and I can PM them on your behalf and being their attention to this thread as you don't have 10 posts yet, but that won't take long to rack up
