    I have exactly the same problem with my sharan 1.9tdi 6speed, i have changed 2 clutches and master slave and still not cured, taking it to garage tomorrow will let you know of the out come.

    hi
    sorry! took to garage today still no joy, i have booked into a vw specilist see what they can sugest they have bleed the system a few times now i have replaced what you have no one can figure it out all seem to point a hydrolic problem! someone sugested that one of the hydrolic hose might be loseing air or the pivot on the clutch pedel might be worn. plese let me know if you come up with any thing and i will do the same its driving me nuts to

    still sticking really hard to find 1st or reverse also pedal gets stuck down

    I wonder if you have the wrong clutch. It is possible that the release bearing is pushing too far on the pressure plate and then getting stuck. The pedal would then stick down. A slight pull with your toe and it comes back up. I have seen this with a cracked pressure plate and when the release bearing and clutch don't match. Did you fit the whole thing as a kit from the same supplier. eg DMF, clutch plate, pressure plate & release bearing.

    i have changed the clutch,presure plate and slave twice! first was a kit the second time time was separate items, the first 50 miles was fine then still the same problems i have bleed it four times now and changed the master slave still no joy!

    booked in at vw suspect master!!! even though its been changed apparently u have to not touch pedal atall or it will y=turn seal inside if no back pressure resulting in it leaking

    no still the same £300 later they said would need further investigation possibly pedal assembely or gearbox removal ad inspection please let me know how u get on as it still sticks in gear and is hard to put in gear

    i took it to a gearbox specialist and he said there is a pipe metre long that connects to the master cylinder that is prone to leak he advised to change that and also to reverse bleed the system he said they are a nightmare to bleed he told me when you fit a clutch it has to be dry and then reverse bleed the system so from the slave to clutch Revere, i have booked it in so will let you know!
