Auto-Folding Mirrors setting per Driver / Key –

I really thought that auto-fold of wing mirrors on locking of the car would be a setting for the car, not for each driver. Imagine my consernation when I took the car into Audi the other day (as they'd broke something while trying to fix something) and taking both my advanced key with me in my pocket and the spare advanced key in my combats pocket, so I could leave it with them and they could do stuff, getting out and noticing that the big wiggly ears didn't fold in as I brushed my finger on the sensor to lock the car.
"Oh, crap!", I thought "something else that's broken?" but then unlocked it, and held the spare advanced key out in my hand, away, from the car, with the advanced key I normally use still in my pocket, brushed the sensor again to lock the car and the big ears folded in.
Did it again, holding out my normal key away from the car and keeping the spare one close to the car and, hey presto, the ears did not fold in.
I guess everyone else knew this. Anyway... I didn't... question is - are all MMI settings per key or for the car? Ones I'm thinking of are DRLs on / off?
Also, my Stop / Start button doesn't work if the 'advanced' key is not being used in an advanced way and some Audi tech. has decided to put it into the hole in the dash (how quaint!)... I guess it makes sense, but it really foxed me for a few seconds... I was sat there, repeatedly pressing the Stop / Start button like a muppet, and he's watching me, not giving me any help at all...
How am I supposed to know? The key has never been in the hole in the dash... that hole could be described as virginal and I am sure the Audi tech. knew that and took great pleasure in deflowering my big, black girl.
Cheers, Hippo
