Phone connectivity

First of all, I apologise if my questions are obvious but I have tried on google and cant find many answers.

Anyway, I am awaiting delivery of my new C Car in a couple of weeks - A4 2.0 Tdie SE ordered in October/November last year. Standard SE spec no extras.

1. I thought that it came with Bluetooth prep as standard but it seems that this isnt the case??? I see that they have now added it as standard tho for SE. Anyway, is there anyway of fitting bluetooth myself, or another workaround? I know I could get a parrot type device but would rather not clog up the dash.

2. I have an Iphone.....can I connect it through the Aux and if so does it synch for Ipod functionality?

Anything else you can tell me re phone/mp3 functionality would really be appreciated.

I think you will find that your car will come with bluetooth. It is all about when the car is built, not ordered...... and usually it will be built about 4 weeks before you get it... so you should get the latest SE spec.

The aux in socket will make your Iphone work as an ipod, but you need to control it from the ipod itself.......... to run it from the car controls you need the AMI interface (retro fit at Audi available)

Thanks for your reply....I hope you are right re the bluetooth. The Audi website seems to imply that you only get the bluetooth if it is delivered after March 1 but the brochure doesnt mention that.

If it doesnt arrive with bluetooth, do I have any options and what are the costs likely to be?

Have a look on the KUFATEC or FISCON websites for Phone upgrade etc.

Hi jonny,
take the doubt out of the situation (by-pass the dealer) and ask Audi Customer Services to check if option "PT5" is fitted (and while your at it check ALL the other options that you expect are there as well!!).

I take it I would have to wait till it is delivered, or could I somehow get the answer now?

The customer order form will have been actioned by your dealership (good idea to ask for a copy) the factory will then action that order and there will be a build specification sheet produced. If you phone AUDI customer services (0800 699888) during the week with your vehicle allocation number (as found on the paperwork supplied by the dealership), then ask if code "PT5" (mobile phone prep-low) is fitted.
They are very helpfull, but I found that certain advisors could access more info than others, just keep phoning!

If Bluetooth has not been fitted at the factory, it can be retrofitted for £200 all in - your dealer can arrange this or you could try A8 Tech (look him up on here if you are based in the North West), Ben at Shark Performance (shark90) or Craig at TCL Satnav.

Thanks - that may be my best bet as it seems that it is not coming with bluetooth from the factory.
