    Car is 1999 cabriolet.

My boot lid is filling up water!!

There is no water in the boot aperture,or in the spare wheel well.

But when the lid is lifted water pours out of the fabric panel that covers all the boot workings!!

Im talking about a pint of water, maybe more. The only thing i can think of is the brake light in the boot lid letting in water.

    Common prob??

    Any other suggestions?

Jesus, this car seems riddled with problems!!!

Oh....while im whinging.Should the fuel tank be under vacuum on my car.It lets out a tremendous whoosh when the fuel cap is undone???

Hi.... sorry to hear about your problems there! Seems like you're a bit unlucky! And now my wife tells me ours is filling up too! Jeezzz.. ah well... it doesn't rain much here, so just made a small hole to let it out :-))

As for the fuel tank... if the tank is nearly empty when you hear it most, you'll actually feel the whoosh coming OUT... so no worries I think. I thought it was the source of my intermittant stuttering problem, but apparently not as I did the half off fuel cap driving for a while and made no difference.

    Hi mate,

    thanks for the reply.

I am going to run the car with the tank half full and the filler cap half off and see it this resolves any issues at all.

Unfortunately i live in Derbyshire Uk and i rains like you wouldnt believe!! ha ha.

I am going to take the boot lid liner out at weekend and see if there is a seal on the high level brake light?I cant think where else it may come in from???Unless its the lights farrer down the lid,the ones next too the number plate?

Only had the car a month and i have spent most of the time fixing and chasing repairs. Not what i expected on a car with only 57,000 on the clock!!
