Please help. Knocking noise from wheels

I have a problem with my 2004 MK5 TDi

There is a knocking noise coming from the wheels when i'm tuening the wheel.

The noise seems to happen when driving off whilest turning or going slow when turning. (Not when driving in a straigh line) Knocking only happens when the wheels are getting driven, if i stop at a stand still and turn the wheel it doesn't knock

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

It is either the wishbone or cv joint, would check the jv joint first.....

Stick your head out the window when turning and focus to which side the noise is coming from, you could get someone in the passenger seat too, im sure it is only one side. Best way to check the problem is to have the car put on the ramp, manually spin the wheel as fast as possible and turn the steering wheel, the fault should turn up then.

Had a new tyre fitted today so they took a look under to see
They tell me it is the n/f/s drive shaft that is knackered

Can't seem to find one anywhere, cheap that is!
