My passat has slowly been losing most of its comfort features one by one.

The door open display only comes up for one rear door & luggage comp.

the interior light doesnt work on any doors when opened.

I have checked the box under the carpet in the n/s/f & its clean & dry.

I have removed front / rear seats / carpet & unwrapped all of the loom & checked for poor crimps ( a couple found) & i have also removed all four door locks, dismantled & checked lock micro switches ( all day job Nightmare).

Even after all this still no interior light when opening doors, car relocks because it thinks you have'nt got in(when you have).

So just what could it be & where do i look next..?

A vag-com read may be able to tell you which area is reporting the fault. Rear door and boot are usually ccm wiring problem, but you have checked that. Try earthing pin 21 0f the 23 pin connector on the ccm with the plug disconnected from the ccm. See if that brings the interior light on.

    Hi
I have a similar problem on my 2002 1.8T only just the drivers door isnt reconised. Havent a clue where to start, in the old days there was a little rubber covered swithch on the door, no such thing on these high tech beasts

Where is the door open sensor? or am I barking up the wrong tree.

    Tony

Door open sensor is a micro switch built into the lock.

Had this on my Borat and now my passat.. it's the micro switch on the door catch (inside the door) and the whole catch needs replacing and is about £100 for the part from Euro...
