T5 Kombi van - Road Tax ???

I have very recently purchased a 2006 T5 LWB Kombi van T32 2.5 with 6 seats, two sliding doors and manual transmission.

I would be grateful of any feedback from other owners of the same type of van.

I purchased the van from a main dealer in London before christmas and I have been getting conflicting answers from Volkwagen / DVLA regarding the cost of taxing this van.

I paid for tax from the main dealer but when I collected the vechicle was told the road tax was £405 per year and not the expected £215.

Volkwagen have now said because of the high specification (extra sliding door and extra row of seats) this increases the weight of the van increases the stated CO2 emmisions because the engine is working harder.

The V5 document states 227 CO2 but the VW brochure states that a 2.5 130BHP LWB window van is 219 CO2 .

TAX BANDS
J - 186 to 200 g/km £215
K - 201 to 225 g/km £215
L - 226 to 255 g/km £405

I knew that 4 motion and triptronic kombi vans were £405 a year but thought that manual kombi's were all £215.

Has anyone got a Kombi van 2.5 130BHP LWB manual with 6 seats and is paying £405 road tax per year.
