I've had my B8 on order since 5th December, and the build week is now confirmed as week 8 (I think this is week commencing 22 Feb). My dealer mentioned that delivery would be about 4 weeks, but I wanted to check with you guys whether this was about right?

I assume it'll be built in Germany, so 4 weeks to transport a car from Germany to the UK sounds ridiculous to me! Even allowing for time to do quality checks on the car, I would have thought a week was more realistic. What was your experience?

The dealer is right - it does indeed take around 4 weeks. They collect the cars at the docks until they have enough to ship a load over - I believe - and this adds a delay. Then they are shipped to a central warehouse where they are scheduled for transportation to the dealers - and the dealer usually needs a few days to prep the car.

I reckon you can be lucky and get it in 3 weeks but 4 is usual.

Jee Whizz!! Wicker1 sounds like the "Dealership" is performing as predicted.

What is their reasons for such a ridiculous wait???

I signed the order with my lease company for a 2.0 TDIe SE (with a few toys) on 29th September. I was initially told it would take 16 weeks which would have been delivery in Mid Jan.

Still hadn't turned up so I had a chat with the lease company last Monday and they were suggesting another week to 10 days for delivery. Hopefully this week then...

Just had my delivery date confirmed as the 19th March 2010 (having ordered on 5th December 2009). So 15 weeks in all.

I guess 15 weeks is pretty good compared to some of you guys at 18 weeks +, but I still can't help feeling let down.
