I have a very dodgy passenger speaker - on and off, and it's clearly the wiring that;s got loose over the years - a quick slam of the door or bang on the door panel, and it comes back to life - both the tweeter and main speaker are affected.

Before I go and remove the whole door card, is the wiring easily accessible? I know the speakers themselves are riveted in. I'm not sure exactly where the wiring will have come loose, but am pondering whether it's something I can do myself or whether I just pay the money and let a specialist do the work.

Finally, just how do you take the door cards off?

    thanks!

    paul.

Use screwdriver or similar to leaver off top of plastic for doorhandle/buttons unit.
Undo three bolts underneath and remove any cable wires
Unscrew 2 screws near base of door.
Use trim tool or similar to release trim from door bottom and sides.
Once loose, push trim up off window ledge.
Remove wires and bowden cable from interior handle.
    Lift card away.
Connections behind the card depend on options for the car, take care not to strain wires.

Thanks for that! Seems pretty straightforward so will give it a go when I've got time. If it looks too complex when I take it off, I'll just leave it to the specialist.

    Thanks.
