THe paint lacquer on my 2002 A4 Avant is blistering and coming off in places. First off there was only a few small patches which I could live with, but now there are more places on the car getting worse. I guess with the cold weather we have had it's made the lacquer blister but it's quite unslightly.
I spend a lot of time detailing my car so it always has a good high polish and wax on it all year round. It is also a red car so this is especially important.

Has anybody suffered with this. I know the car has definitly never been painted and it can't just be stone chips as there is some peeling on a passenger door and the roof near to the boot.

Any suggestions to what I can do. It's going to be quite expensive I can imagine to get the car re-lacquered

Is there a 10 or 12 yr warranty on paint ?
Might be worth a call to the dealer

Yes and then the dealer will give you the old,..."how can we be sure the car has not been badly repaired after an accident?" cobblers line ",it surely can't be a manufacturers fault".
    Been there

They can check by measuring the Depth of the paint. They did it with mine on a very small mior rusting of bottom edge of rear door. They actually went ALL over 1 side of the car! Anything to try and say its been previously repaired!! It hadn`t though!

Hi All, my 2002 amulet red 2.0 tdi lacquer is peeling off all over the place. Also lots of the switches inside are peeling to. Has anyone tried there main dealer ? Seems to me the B6 is just not well finished . Can the lacquer be replaced without the paint?

Interesting? I have a little bit of rust forming here - may pop in and get them to check - I may get it done for free! Will ask at MOT time in May. Or is it April?
