i know its tough to value your car but im looking to change it soon and id like to get an idea of what i'll get back for it.
i looked on autotrader and there isnt many to compare it against, mainly newer models...

    spec:
    99V plate AFB 2.5 v6 tdi A6 Avant Quattro (sport? i think)
    automatic / tiptronic
sport steering wheel with tip gear change buttons
    met. black
    full black leather
bose original stereo with workin g 6cd changer
    cruise con
towball (only fitted to pull my kart trailer)
    new drivers door window mechanism
    new battery
original 16" alloys with all good rubber
    all brakes changed last summer
cambelt and associated bits done last march
    130k miles
not an ounce of bother since buying it in aug '08
    all manuals and leatherlook wallet
5 owners thought the last one was the garage as they had to get the private plate of the car.
over the years its had a new turbo and diesel inj. pump while owned by long term owner in scotland. these parts were done at audi dealer.

im open to offers if anyone wants to buy it and also looking for experienced guys on here to help me value it.

    cheers

link says it doesnt have quotes for that car of that age...bummer!

    cheers guys...
i paid £5495 for it in august 08 and since then its had cambelt plus all associated bits (£540), the abs ecu fixed at bba reman(£250), all brakes and normal service (£440), pair tyres (£140), drivers front window mechanism (£90)

it runs spot on and reurns around 30-32 mpg round town week in, week out. and about 38-40 mpg on a fully loaded up long run.

plus id prefer a little more than £100 ;-)

well strange turn of events, went ot SEAT dealer totalk about a new Leon FR and was pleasently suprised that i was offered 3500 scrappage for my A6. seems a darn shame as its a good old bus but if i go for this leon, which im going back to talk turkey today, then the A6 will go to the governments scrappage scheme

so there is a value i was asking for.

i reckon looking at the market its only worth £3500-4000 private anyway. if im lucky, and this way if it goes to scrappage i dont get the idiots coming round winging about this, that and the other....its a 10 year old 130k mile car!...a good one but still.

I have to say that £3,500 sound a fantastic price for your car, since I would value mine at
£4K tops. Its just that you would probably get 10% off the leon if you bought for cash, so I guess that gives a true value for the transaction at about £2000 which is the govmt scrapage value. Still its probably your best option if you want a new car.
Pitty you paid such a high price 18 months ago.

darn! and I was going to up my offer to £120 as well.... ;-)

Seriously though, if you're in the market for a new car then that seems like a pretty good outcome for you.

It is indeed a shame to scrap it but hey, at the end of the day it's just a lump of metal...

Forget the scrappage price. The dealers hate that thing--its only a sales aid to them.
Just tell dealer you have sold your car private and then tell him --you want a good deal without scrappage --and watch him sweat and drop the price dramatically. Then- sell your car for 2500 or a bit less.
