    Hi,
I am hoping to upgrade the factory radio cd in my golf to the mfd2 sat nav.
I have seen instructions on removal from vehicles with climate control (grill and switch on top of console/ dash).
My car just has the rubber mat on top.
How do I get access to the screws below to remove the trim and then radio?
Any info would save me breaking or damaging the dash.

    Thanks in advance

Lift the rubber mat out of the tray and the screws are underneath.Remove screws & tray, this allows you access to the screws what are securing the radio surround panel, remove them then you'll find four screws securing the actual radio into the dash.

Thanks very much for that. I shall give it a go this weekend.
I presume I can put the gps antenna in a suitable gap as long as there is no metalwork obscuring it from above?

    Thanks again

Fitted sat nav. Working fine. Could get gps lock with antenna under dash tray though. Works sitting on top of dash.
Is there any way (or higher spec gps antenna) that I can hide the gps antenna and still get a signal?
