Does anyone know the sequence for removing the door passenger panel on a 2005 B6 Passat?
The external handle has stopped working but will open from the inside!
Has anyone had the same problem before?
I have located to hex screws at the bottom of the door panel but can't see any others or seem to be able to get it off without forcing it.

    Thanks in anticiaption

If you have window winder, take that off.
Door pull handle has front plastic cover, pry that off and undo two bolts behond.
Remove screw near bottom. Use thin spatular or trim tool to prise trim from door along bottom. Once it all feels loose, push up off window rail. Disconnect any wires and handle cable. Lift away. You will be faced with a big metal sheet bolted to the door. AAAGH !

Hi Ridders, have had this problem since yesterday on my rear door. Removed the door trim and undid the bolts holding the metal door plate but it wouldn't come free as something was still holding it around the door lock area. Wasn't confident on going further in case I broke something. Anyone any tips on getting the last bit off?
Noticed some door trim clips were broken so someone has had the trim off before. Where can I buy replacement clips and how much?

I had the same problem with the drivers door a while back but this rectified itself thank goodness.

All the wires enter the door from the "A" post and so originate from within the door behind the metal sheet. They then come out to the switches, speaker etc. The electronic locking and window electrics are behind the sheet with their wiring.

I have the opposite problem - i.e. the door wont close! I opened it this morning and now it just bounces back open when I try to close it. The car is a 1999 Passat 20V (B5?) and the problem is on the rear drivers side door.

Anyway I removed the inner trim which is relatively straight forward but I can't see how to get the inner pannel off, or rather I can't see how to remove the glass first. My Haynes book of lies says to loosen the clamp bolt but there isn't one (at least not on the rear door).

Any advice please??? I am desperate - it is half term next week and we are "supposed" to be going away fro a few days - it wouldn't be so bad if the door wouldn't open. I suppose as a last resort I could use gaffa tape!

    Cheers

p.s. I have tried the taligentx forum but they describe the glass removal from the front door again!
