Just been on the TomTom site as I am unable to alter some settings on my Go 500. camera warning distance or change from bell to cow sound.sent them an E-mail as I know how to change them but my TomTom wont respond.Instead of a usfull tip, hint or even a solution they have given me an electronic link back to the Q@E site!! Might do a paper clip soft reset. They were quick to take my money for the safey camera package though.

I often have problems when I connect my 910 to the computer. It won't turn on again. I have to use the paper clip reset. I've never been able to work out the best way to disconnect it without it playing up.

First thing.. take out the SD card and boot it without it in.. then turn off.. re-intrest card and reboot..

That will clear the cache on the device.

    Second issue..... The tone..

What you need to do is install the camera sound pack onto it to replace them sounds with audio alrts like "SPEED CAMERA 30MPH..

    See here - http://www.filesaveas.com/tomtom_cameras.html

Dont pay for the files from the site... if you hunt around google you will find the open source version free for download..

    Cheers

    Rick

When plugging tomtom into your usb it must be the main usb. Do not use any for of hardware in between. For example use the usb at the back of the machine not a 1-4 splitter not an after market card or the nattie one on the front of the machine. This is uber important. Next join pocket gps world webby and get poi (points of interest, this includes speed cameras) for tomtom et-al. They also offer advice on repairs etc. Take a look it is well worth it. By the way this is the place tomtom get thiers.
