    Hi Everyone,
My Audi A4 2.0TDI 170 S-Line SE 56 plate, died on the school run Wednesday morning. Fortunately, I was on a low speed side road when it happened. The Roadside assistance mechanic diagnosed it as a fuel supply problem. He called a local Indy garage who advised him that it was more likely an injector failure, that Audi were replacing them under goodwill.

I called Audi Dealer in Maidstone from the road side and mentioned the possible injector fault diagnosis and was advised by them that they were unaware of an injector problem on this model and would charge £144 diagnosis fee.

Based on Audi response I got the car recovered to my home and called Maidstone Audi again once I had run a VCDS fault report, which showed an injector fault and done some research on the net about the potential injector problem . But again they denied any knowledge of a ongoing problem and advised I contact Audi UK direct.

This I did and they immediately admitted the injector issue and promised to get them checked and replaced as long as I could get the car to an Audi centre.

This is the part where I am really annoyed with Maidstone Audi, as it would now cost me nearly £200 to get the car towed from my home to Audi Maidstone. Because most breakdown cover only allow for one single destination for a recovered vehicle and because I had chosen to get the car recovered to home, I was not entitled to get the car towed to Audi.

However, after phoning several breakdown companies and quoted roughly the same. I was advised by Audi assistance to contact the original recovery company GREENFLAG and ask if they could help.

To my relief and great thanks they agreed to collect the car and deliver it to Maidstone Audi for free and treat it as a continuation of my original roadside recovery! What a top company and thank you Green Flag!

Three days later I have the car back and all four injectors and wiring loom have been replaced free of charge by Audi UK.

Car runs smoother without flat spots it had before.
My advice if you have this model of Audi contact Audi UK direct and ask for them to be changed before someone has a serious accident.
I can now ADD my final result to this saga!
I was so impressed at how Audi UK dealt with the matter and thankful they got our car back on the road at no cost to us, that I wrote and thanked them just after receiving the car back.

To my shock and surprise Audi UK called me a couple of days after receiving my letter and offered to send me a crate of wine as a thank you for being such a loyal customer to the Audi brand for nearly 20 years.
I replied I do not drink alcohol (due to driving so much, but my wife does). However, he noted I mentioned in my letter that our car was almost due a CAM-Belt, Tensioner and Water-Pump change and that he would sort something out!?!?

Two hours later I received a call from the same Audi UK customers services rep and was told that Audi Maidstone would be calling me direct to book my car in to replace the aforementioned parts completely Free-of-Charge. Not forgetting to mention they also MOT'ed the car free at the same time also!

Now how is that for customer loyalty and service!?!?!

From one very, very happy Audi owner - Proper Result!

Thought I would share my experiences with Audi uk
I have a B7 2.0 170 which had no faults or running issues. I did not wish to be in a predicament of having injectors fail on me so approached Audi UK as others have done.
I was advised to book the car into the nearest Audi Centre and to have the injectors checked. Audi UK promising that they would be changed out FOC should the faulty ones be identified.
This I promptly arranged with my local Audi Centre and was told it would cost £105 + Vat should the checks prove that the injectors are not the faulty ones. I was prepared to stand this cost for peace of mind if anything else.
Car paid a visit into Audi where they identified faulty injectors and replaced all four complete with harness bolts etc, Injectors priced £120 each and invoiced Audi uk for £1200. Result!
Again, many thanks to all on this thread.
Only £120 now strange how quickly they have come down in price now that Audi are shelling out for them,
170 bhp s line bose, cruise control, pdc, mfsw, flawless glossy black, Now hopefully reliable with it's new injectors

The price drop came as a surprise to me, it happened two days after I fitted 3 for another garage, I told him to kick up a fuss as it was not fair. As an aside, I have now had a failure of a new injector, literately straight after fitting...! *** is going on!

My A4 is going in for a service on the 22nd Nov and I have asked my local dealer to check the missfiring again. With not much confidence in them I wrote to Audi UK on Sunday night and told them the problems I've been having. I got a phonecall from Audi customer service today and couldn't be happier with the result, they are contacting my local dealer and asking them to check the type of injectors fitted and if found to be the old style these will be replaced along with the wiring loom! Result. If its not this then further investigation will be carried out.
Well done Audi, hopefully I can get the car running right now.

Audi do appear to be doing all they can on this short of a full recall and I think that will be due to the adverse publicity this would generate. I can see the Daily Scare (AKA the Daily Mail) headline now, "Shock horror, deadly Audi lethal fault emergency recall affects tens of thousands of motorists"

I have a 2006 AUDI A4 2.0 TDi Quattro 170 SE 5dr Diesel Avant, and recently in Glasgow the engine cut out and refused to restart. I was ferried to my home in Oban by the AA (who were unable to trace the fault). I then arranged for the car to be transported to a local garage who now advise me that an injector has failed, and it is best dealt with by Audi.

I have now emailed Audi Customer Services to give then the opportunity to restore my faith in them. I love Audis (I've had 4, and 8 cars from VAG) but what I read here is disturbing. I hope they can do the right thing, in which case I'll be singing their praises everywhere!

    I'll keep you all posted.

    Hi
I had my injector problem sorted by Audi UK FOC only 3 weeks ago, so you should get a positive response. If not refer them to this forum and in particular this thread!

So, cars at Audi as I write this having all the injectors and wiring loom changed, result!
The only frustrating point is that I asked Hull Audi about the injectors back in June / July time and they did nothing about it.
