Awesome, everyone submitting their forms, the Skoda forums are doing the same for their 170s too!

@mini-mad-matt, you can always write them a quick email showing your concern, that way they know you exist and they have yet one more customer backing this up.

Imagine if you had a failure after sending your letter of concern... you'd have a fair bit to tell them at that stage... of course I hope you don't get a failure!

Just had my second injector go inside 3 months (audi A4, pd 170, 56 plate, 90k miles). First time was at top of M62 (Jan), second time was where A666 splits off M61 (yesterday). Both times our baby on board and yesterday a guy in a convertible very nearly ran into the back of the car while we were on the hard shoulder- swerved back out into slow lane just in time. On my way to the VOSA site!

    Hi,

Just changed the 2nd failing Siemens Piezo injector on my Audi A4 Avant 2.0 tdi 2007, 170 HP (8ED 03C)/DPFM6S, BRD)‏.

First failed 1 month back 2nd last Monday and today one week later 3rd started misbehaving.

Today I checked measure block 13 with the below result:

    13:44:16 Group 013
    -0.29 mg/str Inj. Quantity
    0.53 mg/str Inj. Quantity
    -0.96 mg/str Inj. Quantity
    0.72 mg/str Inj. Quantity

It all eaquales out nicely but I have changed 1 (-0.29) and 3 (-0.96)

Could this indicate a faulty adjustment of the injector or just the fact that 2 are new and 2 are old?

    Best regards
    Sebastian

My form would not let me change boxes without clearing what i had just put in. Which cars do not have these injectors fitted as i don't trust mine. Are the new ones any better or were they a bad batch mine is a 56 2007 170 hp 2.0tdi. Had three fitted since february 2010 and one fitted january 2009 possibly no4 twice.

Hi Guys, I'm so glad glad i've found this site although probably not for the right reasons.
Well my 1st injector packed up on the outside lane of the M5 back in February this year and the second one went two weeks ago. Fortunately the second one was a lot closer to home and a safer place for the car to die.
I've just submitted my form to vosa and will keep you posted on the response.
Audi really do need to take action on this. I'm driving on tenderhooks waiting for the 3rd & 4th injector to pack up! This is ridiculous.
Car is an AUDI A4 2.0tdi SE 170 on a 57 plate. Lovely car but i wish i'd found this site before buying it 4 months ago!
    Cheers Gareth

Sorry to say, but my my 170 A4 (56 plate - 58K miles) is yet another casualty of this problem.

Whilst driving home on the M6 last night, the engine suddenly cut out - fortunately, I was able to drift to the hard shoulder. The steering does become heavy after the engine cuts out - although at speed you can still manoeuvre.

The AA towed me to my local independent specialist who have diagnosed faulty injector no. 2. I am staggered by the £727 bill - although fortunately I do have AA Breakdown Repair Cover.

I have been reading this thread with interest and I will be filling out the VOSA form.

This is a real shame - I really do love my car and after burning through money switching between a few other unsatisfactory cars - I promised myself I would be keeping this Audi for 5 or 6 years at the very least. Now I'm not quite so sure.

EDIT: Now got my car back after just 2 days off the road, thanks to a fantastic quick turnaround by my local indepdendent specialist. The engine feels smoother, I think. However, I'm not going to be complacent. VOSA form is going to be submitted.
