I have owned both a 2003 Golf GT TDi and a 2003 Passat Estate 130. On the Golf we replaced the shocks at 45K because the suspension was really soft with the tyres hitting the bodywork, yet even with new shocks we still felt the suspension was soft though not as soft. I have recently purchased a 2nd hand Passat Estate and when I was checking it out did the regulation bouncing on the wings with what I thought was reasonable results. However with only 3 people in the car the tyres are hitting the bodywork on small bumps. So before I replace the shocks, should I be looking at the SPRINGS. Problem is that the front is also making contact.
