RNS510 and Bluetooth Connectivity iPhone?

Hi

I'm just about to install an RNS510 and jumped straight in with both feet before researching the VW Premium Bluetooth compatability buying one to install at the same time I put in the RNS510. I have an iPhone 3GS which I assumed would work ok with the kit, however, it would appear I truely am mistaken.

Apparantly the VW kit uses rsap (remote sim access profile) which the iPhone does not support. I'm really sorry to post this as I can't imagine for one second I'm the first to ask this question and have searched the internet and these forums for an answer but I'm stuck.

Is there anything I can add to the kit/iphone to get it to work?
Should I try and sell the kit before I install it in place of another kit? (if there is one)

I really have no idea what to do, but getting rid of the iPhone isnt really an option as it's 2 months into an 18 month contract!!

Again sorry if this has been asked a thousand times already but I'm not really sure what to do.

What year and model car are we talking about here?

Your post isnt clear, are you installing RNS and BT? Or is the BT already (factory) fitted in your car?

If its already in your car and your 100% sure its the rSAP version then you could remove it and install then non-rSAP kit. They're on Ebay for £275 ish.

The vehicle is a 59 Passat CC currently with an RCD510 fitted and no bluetooth. I have purchased an RNS510 to fit and also the VW premium bluetooth kit. I'm not sure if the bluetooth kit is rSAP or not, I'm presuming it is as I was under the impression all VW bluetooth kits were. The bt part number is; 5N0 035 730 B / 5N003573B. Software version SW 8502 HW 15 Bj. 20w/2009.

The RNS510 is Model Ref 1T0 035 680. Firmware version 1200.

Does that info help, do you know if it will work with an iPhone? If not, my wife has a MK6 Golf with the RNS510 fitted, if the bt system is a no go for my car then I'll fit it in her's.

Do you have any links for the non-rSAP kits incase that is what I need?

This isn't the simple push fit easy install I thought it was going to be, but I had better get it right before I start taking things apart in the car!

Sadly 5N0 035 730 B is an rSAP only phone kit.

Something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Eos-Passat-...item1c0c346cbc would be ok I think. (this seller is nothing to do with me!!)
