Delivery Times

I have been told by VWCS that my car is now built and awaiting shipping. Just wondering how long it usually takes for shipping as my current insurance runs out on the 3rd of feb so would be good if i was to recieve the car by then. Has anyone had delivery of their car within 3 weeks?

I'm sure I heard somewhere that it is usually 2-3 weeks for delivery, upto 1 week for PDI. But at the moment the delivery is a bit delayed due to the backlog caused by the bad weather. That might not be correct though, but heard it in a couple of places.

4 week is about right - Weather may delay by a week

Ah nooooooooo i need it for 3rd Feb!

don't want to pay for a months insurance for 5 days worth of driving and then have to pay cancellation fees on top!

Well my bild week is the same as yours, and got the same notification as you saying my car has been built and finshed today and dealer said i wont make the 26th of Jan as expected but will have before the end of the month. So i think you'll be lucky and have it before your insurance runs out there mate. As i would think ours would be delivered together seeing they were built together

Yep, i hope it comes before end of Jan, would save me alot of hassel! The dealer hasn't called me yet to notify me that the car is built! He did say he was going to phone me on friday to give me an update to which i still haven't had it! This guy is absolutely crap!

Dealer just called me to tell me that the car is at the Docks waiting to be loaded! but he wasn't sure whether it would go on the first shipment because apparently there are either 220 spaces or 2200 spaces, i cant remember which one he said, but anyway if my car falls as number 230 or 2300 then i will have to wait for the next shipment. Dealer quoted that it takes 48hrs to load a ship/container and then travel to uk and takes another 48hrs to unload! then as long as it doesn't get stopped by customs here it will take another 3/4 days until i can take delivery of it. That means a minimum of 8 days!

worst case scenario is that it will take 3 weeks to recieve it from its current position at the docks, which is what happened last year apparently.
