My car wasnt starting, chcked everything only to realise that the distriutor is knackered. the plastic cog at the has lost some teeth. Does anyone knwo if the distributor from an audi s2 3B quattro 1991 will fit. Only difference I can see is the S2 has a metal cog not plastic.

If anyone has got a spare distributor that would be great.

    cheers

I think both come fitted with a plastic gear originally, a service exchange distributor gets a metal gear fitted.
The difference with a 3B, is the width of the rotor arm tip. It is narrower to reduce the likelihood of 'crossfiring' to the 'wrong' post. I think it will work ok as is, but if there is a problem no reason a 7A rotor arm could not be fitted?
034 motorsports sells replacement bronze gears, they also used to crop up on E bay, username 'urquattrob' or something along those lines
