    Hi all,

I recently smashed my 6n2 gti into a wall and the body work took a hit but is easily repairable.

My main concern is the extreme negative camber i have got on the driver side wheel. I just cant see for the life of me which part(s) are causing it. I have replaced the strutt and the track rod (fubar'd) and the wheel is still no better.

I hope the subframe is not bent, as far as i can see the subframe has not moved (no visible signs of shuffle).

Any ideas what component is likely to be giving me this negative camber?

    Dan

It should be the same as mk4. remove the the wheel, where the hub meets the shock there should be two bolts holding the shock into the hub and these are camber adjustable.

With the car jacked up undo these bolts and see if you can move it back to normal.

I would recomend you get the wheel alignment checked when you have it all sorted as it will be out if you have changed bent trackrods

Im sure it is the same as a mk4 polo so let me know how you get on.

    will.

thanks for the help mate, it seems likely that this is the problem. i have checked the car over twice from underneath and there is nothing amiss.

as i said i've changed the track rod, track rod end and also the whole leg!

it is considerably better thanks. however, it is still slightly out. i shall have the wheel alingment done and see if this corrects it further.
